Say I wanted to play a burned copy of mario kart online with my softmodded wii, is this dangerous? Could nintendo detect my mod and burned game and give me some kind of ban?Is it unsafe to play burned wii games online with a soft modded wii?
I believe they can and will probably ban you from the networks.
No, they can not detect that you're playing a copied game, nor will they be able to detect that you soft-modded your Wii. The way they detect "mods" is when people modify contents of the game (cheating) and that's when they get banned (for cheating)....
The only way Nintendo can "find out" about our soft-modded wii, is with an update of some kind. Their updates uninstall any mods...which is why you aren't supposed to update from a disc and you aren't supposed to have WiiConnect24 enabled (in case Nintendo surprises us all with an automatic update).
SO - even then they won't KNOW that YOU have a soft-modded Wii, the only real way for them (nintendo) to know is if you sent your Wii in for repair - and why would you do that when you KNOW that you've modded it. . .Is it unsafe to play burned wii games online with a soft modded wii?
it works fine. was playing online last night off a back up. anyone who says they'll ban you or shut you down hasn't tried it. i've done it. level 27 on cod m/w reflex. something to point out though "N" knows about piracy and has taken steps to stop it. the newer wiis have a different optical drive (d3) so they can't. you're not out of luck if you have the newer wii though. use a usb loader and an external hard drive and you're in business.Is it unsafe to play burned wii games online with a soft modded wii?
yes ,but not on xbox 360 online the online xbox360 managers will ban you from xbox live if they catch you playing burned games online. i also burn games for my wii and man o man do i have alot of games!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
