Nope. You can't play Against people online With the first one.
What you CAN do is upload your scores to the Internet and see what place you rank with the rest of the world.
Sucks, i know. But i think there Will be a online mode with the New game coming out! Mario and sonic at the Winter olympics. And its gonna have lots of new characters too! ^_^
