I'm sorry to report, but all the Gamecube games that have online/LAN support are not supported by the Wii. This is due to different configuration in the networking protocols, which the Gamecube games cannot recognize the WiFi nor the Ethernet adaptor on the Wii.
Mario Kart: Double-Dash!! was able to become an online game through an online LAN-emulator called Warp Pipe ( http://cubeonline.warppipe.com/ ), which allowed LAN-enabled games (like Mario Kart: Double-Dash!! %26amp; Kirby's Air Ride to name a few) to be played online.
Since the Wii will be using the WiiConnect24 network, all games release prior to it will not be able to use this network for online gameplay.

Mario Kart DD is not online capable -- only system link capable. As all Wiis are wifi only, it wouldn't be hard to test if the system link capability still works (which it really should, undoubtedly).
On that note, there are only two ONLINE games for the Gamecube:
Phantasy Star Online and Phantasy Star Online

dont listen to him, you can plug your GC controler right into the top of the wii and even use your save file. The wii has the gc chipset inside so it is a full GC when you put in a gc disk. so If it worked in the gc it will work in the wii. 100% gc to wii compatability
No BUT u CAN use the gamecube games on the wii!
